2015 tag set
Dear Prime Time Player letters On LJ | On DW (optional)
Requests
You can request a minimum of 3, up to 6 fandoms. You may request up to 4 characters or request Any.
You can request one fandom twice with different sets of characters, provided you have a minimum of 3 different fandoms. Example: Psych, National Football RPF, Hikaru no Go (one set of characters), Hikaru no Go (second set of characters).
By requesting Any, a participant is requesting Any nominated characters. Do not be that person who requests Any in Fandom F, but writes about specifically wanting Character Z from Fandom F who wasn't nominated. Also, do not be that person who requests Any, but only talks about one or two nominated characters. In that case, just request those specific characters.
If you are typing in a nominated character, but it is not autofilling, you can copy/paste the character name from the tag set onto the sign up form.
Dear Prime Time Player Letter URL: If you want to leave the URL to your Dear Prime Time Player letter, this is the place to do so.
Optional Details: Optional details are optional, however, if you want to give your writer ideas, this is the place to do it, whether you write a letter or not. I highly recommend that you add in bare minimum optional details such as likes/dislikes.
If you leave optional details blank and don't provide a letter, your writer has mod approval to write whatever they want, provided the fic matches requested fandom and character(s) (if recipient requests more than one character, the writer has mod approval to use how many requested characters they see fit for the fic, including just one requested character out of the bunch).
Offers
You must offer a minimum of 3 fandoms, maximum of 10. You may offer up to 10 characters per fandom or offer Any.
Don't forget to request/offer fandoms you want. If you're lukewarm about a fandom, don't request it. Chances are this will be the fandom you receive.
You can also offer one fandom twice with different sets of characters, provided you have a minimum of 3 different fandoms.
If you are typing in a nominated character, but it is not autofilling, you can copy/paste the character name from the tag set onto the sign up form.
Once at least five people have signed up, you'll be able to keep track of current request/offer numbers via the signup summary.
In regards to character matching, the challenge's Minimum Number to Match is set to 1 Request, 1 Fandom, and All Characters. So matching is based off AND, not OR.
You may edit your sign up form until sign ups close on the 30th.
I may have to email participants about their sign ups and I do this through the email associated with your AO3 account. Please make sure to check this email during sign ups just in case you have to fix something (like if you signed up for an individual fandom 3 times). Otherwise I have to delete your sign up when sign ups end.

What does it happens if user Alpha requests for Characters X and Y, and user Bravo offers for Characters X, Y and Z, would Alpha's request be matched with Bravo's offer?
Or, flipped scenario, Alpha requests for Characters X, Y, and Z, but Bravo offers for just X and Y, would their request/offer be matched?
My point is, I have a couple of fandoms where different versions of the same character are nominated and I'm unsure about what I'm better to request.
Should I request for (example) Real Margaret and Dream Margaret or I'm better to choose either in order to make it easier to my request to get matched to an offer? Same about offering, what should I do, offering for both Dream Margaret and Real Margaret, or choose just one?

Date: 2015-04-19 05:16 pm (UTC)In your second scenario, no, Bravo would not be matched to Alpha. Bravo would need ALL of Alpha's characters to match. Bravo can have more offers (like in the first scenario with an additional Z), but Bravo cannot have less offers than what Alpha is requesting.
Who you request is entirely up to you. Just keep in mind that if you request both versions in one fandom request, and don't mention that you're okay with your writer writing either and not necessarily together, it may frustrate your writer trying to write both in the same fic. You can request one and mention in your optional details/letter that you don't mind the other as a secondary character or, if all else fails, write the other instead. But that should be a suggestion and a last option, not mandatory.
Also, you can request 3 to 6 fandoms with one fandom requested twice. So in your example of Fandom X, one can be requested with Real Margaret and another of Fandom X with Dream Margaret.
When it comes to offering, if you really want either versions of Margaret, offering both of them would increase your odds of getting her, but only if you have the same characters that someone is requesting. If you only offer those two (as an example) but every person requesting either version of Margaret also included Mei, you'd be out of luck matching to them. You can offer more characters to increase your odds of matching, but I only recommend that if you honestly don't mind writing those characters and potentially any combo of them, including in romantic relationships.
